This porters room was for the crew who stayed on the car so it would be stocked and ready to roll on a moments notice. The room was fabricated in 1929 from salvaged pieces of 1880’s furniture made of quarter-sawn oak including a Pullman bunk, carved seat ends and decorative bronze hardware. The whole room was painted pea green as were most utility rooms of the time. The restorer’s failure to repaint this 1880’s woodwork is the only 1910 detail of The Abraham Lincoln that is not historically correct.
